Job Summary:

The Arizona Advisory Council on Indian Health Care is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Training Officer 1. The Training Officer 1 will assist with project development and implementation and assist to accomplish grant goals and deliverables by assisting the Training Officer 3 in designing, developing, and presenting training and Training materials. The Training Officer 1 will work closely with Tribal Community Health Representatives (CHR) programs and partners to better address the social determinants of COVID-19, build community resilience, and advance health equity by building capacity of the tribal CHRs and the health systems they work with and within, to include the Indian Health Service and Tribal Health Systems. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Assisting in the development of overall training program objectives and coordinating the execution and evaluation of training activities by presenting at both in-person and virtual trainings, meetings, and conferences.

* Design, develop, and present training plans to subcontracted partners. Participates in preparation, review and coordination of formalized in-service and out-service training programs. Writes training manuals, special training materials and prepares special studies.

* Provides technical supervision over training activities by assisting in evaluations and recommendations for process improvements. Reviews policies, guidelines, and grant deliverables to ensure current practices are accurately reflected.

* Write, edit, review and revise basic training workbooks, instructor guides, training bulletins and aids. Establishes and maintains training records.

* Establish and maintain relationships with subcontracted partners. Participates in partner meetings, trainings, and conferences. Assists staff officials in training strategies and methods.

* Policies, procedures and programs of tribal health care delivery systems, public health systems, community health representative programs and Indian Health System an how they interact with state and federal systems

* Establish and maintain effective working relations with individuals, groups, and representatives of other organizations

* Strong research skills
* Communicate verbally and in writing effectively

* Plan, organize, and coordinate the execution of training programs
* Provide technical supervision in training matters
* Ability to write training materials
* To manage multiple tasks within a dynamic work environment, prioritizing tasks to ensure timelines are met
* Work independently as a team member
* Analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

Selective Preference(s):

* Preferred 5 years of experience working with American Indian population.

* Experience in Training, Community Health or other closely related work.

Pre-Employment Requirements:

* Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

* Successfully pass fingerprint background check, prior employment verifications and reference checks; employment is contingent upon completion of the above-mentioned process and the agency’s ability to reasonably accommodate any restrictions.

* Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) AND have an acceptable driving record for the last 39 months including no DUI, suspension or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. If an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months, a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required prior to driving for State Business. Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
