Job Summary:

The Division of Health Care Management (DHCM) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Program Specialist. The Project Aware II Grant Co-Coordinator will provide technical assistance, services, and professional learning support through direct collaboration with contracted school districts to increase effectiveness of the mental health referral pathways and develop policies that address suicide prevention and post-vention in schools. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

Job Duties:

* Provide technical assistance, services, professional learning support through direct collaboration with state agencies, LEAs, RBHAs and MCOs to improve comprehensive school mental health programs, referral pathways and reduce the rate of youth suicide in Arizona.

* Act as a liaison between AHCCCS and Medicaid funded initiatives and ADE to identify ongoing opportunities for partnership, education, and program development to support Project AWARE initiatives.

* Provide at least three annual mental health literacy trainings and three presentations at outreach events that highlight the work of Project AWARE.

* Convene collaborative of MCOs and community providers to exchange information, collect and analyze data. Present meeting outcomes to ADE AWARE team to guide implementation of School Based Mental Health (SBMH)-to-Community MH provider pathways.

* Interpret data needs of grant and provide feedback that objectively discerns the use of data to perform continuous quality improvement measures within the State and LEA workplans, and review and update AWARE Comprehensive Plan quarterly, data evaluation plan annually, and LEA workplans monthly.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

* Principles and practices of behavioral health services and mechanisms of managed (prepaid) health care systems; preventative health practices; organization of health care systems and current trends that affect the systems, and research methodology and process

* Knowledge of the Arizona Public Behavioral Health system, including AHCCCS/Administrative policies and procedures

* Operational and programmatic expertise in the delivery and oversight of behavioral health services and programs

* Organizational skills that result in prioritization of multiple tasks

* Providing effective guidance and technical assistance regarding health care issues and the administration of AHCCCS behavioral health and integrated care programs.

* Analyze barriers or problems and make recommendations for improvements

* Establish and maintain effective working relationships, especially in a changing health care environment

Selective Preference(s):

* Five years clinical and programmatic experience in working with schools and the behavioral health service delivery systems including experience in a public managed care environment

* A licensed clinical social worker (LCSW); a Registered Nurse or Nurse Practitioner with Psychiatric-Mental Health specialty or a master’s or higher degree in a behavioral health or health related field.
