Must reside in the State of Arizona 

This position is eligible for part-time/full-time remote work (including virtual office arrangement). 

Job Summary:

The Information Services Division is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as a Business Analyst. This position is responsible for working with the business units and an outside vendor to gather requirements for system service requests. The BA will also keep track of open tickets, help track delivery of product.

Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Gather and Document Requirements 
  • Host and document notes from meetings.
  • Track reported issue, requested changes and priorities. 
  • Assist with system configuration, Unit Testing and User/Quality Assurance testing.
  • Assist Business Users to understand Vendor Documentation
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

Knowledge: 

  • Knowledge of Medicare and Medicate systems. 
  • Knowledge of working with external vendors. 
  • Knowledge of Systems Development Life Cycle.

Skills: 

  • Skilled in understanding complex documentation and interpreting for a Business English audience. 
  • Skilled in both oral and written communication. 
  • Skilled in reading and understand contract language to ensure it’s being followed by external vendors. 

Abilities: 

  • Ability to analyze complex system problems. 
  • Ability to interface with business users, stakeholders, and Vendor representatives at all levels.
  • Ability to stay organized in a extremely busy and complex system
Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor's degree and/or 5 years of experience in business analysis (or equivalent)

Preferred: 

  • PMI certification and Lean or Six-sigma certification is a plus. 
  • 10+ years Business Analyst or Programmer Analyst experience, Programmer/Developer Background.
  • Demonstrated ability for documenting requirements, meeting records, change requests, industry standards associated with an SDLC. 
  • Familiarity with mainframe applications/languages (COBOL/IDEAL) as well as Cloud based User Interfaces. 
  • Experience with external vendor management.
Pre-Employment Requirements:

* Successfully complete the Electronic Employment Eligibility Verification Program (E-Verify), applicable to all newly hired State employees.

* Travel may be required for State business. Employees who drive on state business must complete any required driver training (see Arizona Administrative Code R2-10-207.12.) AND have an acceptable driving record for the last 39 months including no DUI, suspension, or revocations and less than 8 points on your license. If an Out of State Driver License was held within the last 39 months, a copy of your MVR (Motor Vehicle Record) is required prior to driving for State Business. Employees may be required to use their own transportation as well as maintaining valid motor vehicle insurance and current Arizona vehicle registration; however, mileage will be reimbursed.
