The Division of Fee for Service Management (DFSM) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an  Integrated Services Specialist. This position is responsible for infrastructure development for the American Indian Health care delivery system, and programmatic functions within DFSM. Major duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Possesses knowledge and experience in the American Indian health care delivery system, Court Ordered Evaluation (COE) and Court Ordered Treatment (COT) processes, inpatient treatment, the SMI determination process, care coordination, tribal processes, and contractual commitments.

* Provides technical assistance to internal staff, health plans, providers and other external customers related to systems navigation, clinical issues and programmatic implementation of integrated care services.

*  Serves as DFSM’s subject matter expert for COE/COT and supports internal monitoring efforts related to COE/COT.    

* Provides monitoring and oversight, including but not limited to, readiness and operational review efforts, related to TRBHAs.

* Assists with drafting and revision of policies and procedures as they relate to behavioral health.

* May travel to remote areas of the state.


* Knowledge of utilization review, quality management, and medical and behavioral health care management and delivery systems.

* Knowledge of State and Tribal COE/COT regulations, rules and processes.

* Knowledge of AHCCCS and Medicaid program design, implementation, policies and procedures, and relevant federal and state statutes, regulations and rules governing same.

* Knowledge of modes of delivery for acute, sub-acute and residential treatment, utilization of inpatient stays and outpatient services.

* Strong ability to collaborate with others for a mutually beneficial outcome, and strong interpersonal skills to work with people of diverse cultures and socioeconomic backgrounds.

* Ability to interpret clinical information and assess implications for treatment, assess variables which impact health and functioning, and to read, interpret and apply complex rules and regulations.

* Excellent research, analytical and communication skills, both verbal and written.


* Ideal candidate will have 3 - 5 years of experience in the behavioral health field, an advanced degree in social work, health care or related fields, and experience in tribal health care delivery systems, working with tribal facilities and with COE/COT processes.
