Salary: $115,000 - $130,000

Job Summary:

The Division of Health Care Management (DHCM) is looking for a highly motivated individual to join our team as an Assistant Director - Finance, Rate Development, & Data. Under the supervision of the Deputy Director for Health Plan Operations, the Assistant Director position will be responsible for the leadership of the following units: Actuarial, Actuarial Analysis, AHCCCS Office of Data Analytics, Finance & Reinsurance, and Reimbursement. The AD also has shared oversight over the DHCM Administration Unit, and handling the day-to-day administrative functions including, but not limited to, procurement activities and budget oversight.

Job Duties:

* Oversight of the Actuarial, Actuarial Analysis, AHCCCS Office of Data Analytics, Finance & Reinsurance, and Reimbursement Units; shared oversight of the Administration Unit.

* Co-lead the DHCM Management Team to coordinate work processes, meet deadlines, maintain a smooth running operation, promote a positive morale in the Division, ensuring staff are equipped to be able to meet their responsibilities.

* Attend and/or lead Division, Agency, and External meetings related to the programs and activities of DHCM, as appropriate.

* Update the Agency Director and/or Deputy Director on the status of programs, projects, and activities, identifying any issues and new information that needs to be elevated to the Director's Office. Serve as an active participant on the Agency's Leadership Team.

* Special projects and assignments as directed by the Agency Director and Deputy Director

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities (KSAs):

* Federal and State regulations for Medicaid

* Research techniques for collecting, analyzing, interpreting and communicating results to others

* Principles and practices of program/project management, and effective supervision of a management team

* Techniques of budget development

* Claims and encounter data, and the ability to analyze payment data and prepare fiscal impact analysis

* Accounting, financial reporting, auditing and financial analysis

Selective Preference(s):

* Advanced degree in healthcare or finance fields preferred.

* Masters Level degree in business or health care administration may be substituted with demonstrated experience.

* Experience in the design, development and administration of managed health care programs. Strong experience in managing, motivating, and coordinating high-level professionals.
