Benefits of Working for AHCCCS
At AHCCCS, we know our employees are the foundation and support of our organization. In return, we support them by providing comprehensive benefits, workplace flexibility, career development opportunities, and recognition activities.
We Have Great Benefits!
The State of Arizona offers a robust and affordable benefits package that focuses on improved health care and is committed to helping employees and eligible family members to be well and stay well for life! You can review the summary of benefits below, or explore the Arizona Benefits Services Division website for a complete list of benefits.
Health Care Benefits
You will be eligible to participate in the State employee health/disability insurance plans and may enroll any time within the first 31 days of your hire date. Your benefits will become effective on the first day of the subsequent pay period after you have completed and submitted your benefit elections enrollment.
Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
Contracted EAP providers offer free, confidential, short-term counseling services to employees and eligible family members. The free counseling can help handle concerns or issues constructively, before they become a major problem. In addition to counseling, EAP offers work-life benefits and referrals to local affordable resources such as substance abuse, relationship and family crises, and legal and financial difficulties
Wellness Program
Additional health benefits and resources are offered through the State of Arizona Wellness Program. The program provides free or low-cost educational programs, health screenings, interactive web tools, and health-related services. Other campaigns organized by Wellness include the Mayo Clinic Health Assessment, Annual Flu Vaccines, Mini Health Screenings, and the Tobacco Cessation Program.
Retirement and Long-Term Disability (LTD)
State employees are required to participate in the Arizona State Retirement System (ASRS), the State sponsored retirement contribution plan and the Long-Term Disability (LTD) program after a 27-week waiting period.
